Family Time Bingo

I don’t play bingo all the time and I have never played online bingo; but I am sure it is just as fun as playing in a bingo hall. As a kid I was always interested in bingo and would go with my mom to play at the lions club. When I turned sixteen I was allowed to play bingo with my mom. We played almost every night and I loved it. Later on in life my mom became the bingo caller so I went every Saturday night. I’ve never won so far when I’ve played, but I still enjoyed being around the people I was with and the excitement of waiting for my number to be called. My grandma loved bingo and played whenever she could, she had her lucky bingo box with her chips and markers, which was passed down to me. This made bingo even more fun to me because there was a meaning behind playing. It also was good for spending quality time with my mom and remembering how great my grandmother was. I think bingo is a great hobby to have and it can be easily enjoyed while spending time with your family.

About the Spanish National Football side

Here's a quick article I knocked up to fill you in on the national side of Spain.

The Spanish National football team is called La Seleccion. The Spanish team began its international journey in 1920 when it played its first match against Denmark, which, they won by a goal.

Spain qualified for the 1962 World Cup but could not go ahead as it had tough members in its group. In 1964 Spain hosted the European Championship which they won and stood at the first position. The Spanish team made quite an impact in Euro 84 where they topped the qualifying group 7 with teams like Netherlands, Malta, Iceland and Republic of Ireland. Spain gave an impressive performance in Euro 84 to reach the finals against hosts France. Spain lost the match against France but this momentum helped them for the 1986 World Cup at Mexico. Spain qualified at the top of their group for Euro 2008.

Spain won all of their group games and finished first in their group. They defeated Italy in the quarterfinals and Russia in the semis to reach the finals. Spain defeated Germany with the score of 1-0 scored by Fernando Torres to win the cup. They are the current European champions after having won the 2008 UEFA European Championship. Trying to get Spanish football tickets for the major games can be very difficult, as they are almost always sold out.

The state of the economy

What are everyone's opinions on the state of the economy?

Down here in Spain they seem to be being hit especially hard. Tourists are staying away which is driving down the amount of money our business is earning. Back in the UK things don't seem to be so bad, although I understand Mr. Brown has been in heated discussions with the US regards the global state of the economy.

Premier League opening weekend

It's back once again! The football season

After the first weekend of Premiership football has just passed, Chelsea have already opened up a two-point gap over Man Utd, however how long this will last is another question. I’m quite interested in sport betting and I’m deciding which of the two teams to place a bet on to win the Premiership title this season.

Man Utd are consistently strong, having won the championship a record 10 times since its origination in 1992 and having not finished outside the top 2 for the past three seasons. Chelsea, on the other hand, have only came into the fray in the past few years, since being taken-over by a super-rich Russian oil tycoon who ploughed his wealth into the club and allowed them to buy such stars as Petr Cech, Michael Essien and Didier Drogba. Abramovich (Chelsea’s owner) has had 4 managers since he took over, those being Claudio Ranieri, Jose Mourinho, Avram Grant and more recently Luiz Felipe Scolari. Such disruption might work against them, but then again a fresh-face might see them win the title having failed for two successive seasons.

I’m going to be adventurous and plump for Chelsea this season. I think Scolari is the breath of fresh air that the club needs and with Ronaldo out of action for the first few months of Man Utd’s season, they might not pick up enough points early on to keep the gap between them and Chelsea small enough to close.

2 weeks before the big move!

Not long now until I make the move over to Spain. Getting rather nervous! The spanish lessons haven't been going so well either which isn't helping matters.

Have been looking to buy a ticket to see Barcelona at the Nou Camp to cheer myself up; I think I'll try to get to the Real Madrid game though I know those are always tough to get! Anyone else had any luck getting them in the past? Barcelona tickets website seems pretty reliable but I know you have to always tread carefully buying online.

Not much else has been happening really, just been preparing what to take with me. I'm only going to be in Spain for around 6 months (work depending) so I'm taking as little as possible. Got a nice flat organised fairly central to the town where I am working so transport shouldn't be a problem, which is good as I was a little concerned about getting around.

Heading up north to see the family this weekend, should be fun... though have nothing special planned.

Hello world!

I thought it was about time I got on board this blogging bandwagon before it's too late.

Many of you probably don't know me, so first a little bit about myself. My name is Dan and I am a 27 year old from Chester in the UK. Currently working as a Construction Site manager. I'm moving to Spain soon with work and I am currently taking on a rather intense course to learn Spanish before the big move. I decided to start this blog after my friends all began keeping an "online journal" (or blog as I have come to now know them!). It seemed a like a fun idea and a good way to keep in touch with people, so here I am with iamdan.blog.co.uk!

I'll no doubt be back with an entry every few days - or just whenever I get bored basically.

I don't think the blog will have a specific topic, but hopefully everyone will find something that interests them here.
